ESL classes provided by churches in Texas have not escaped the impact of COVID-19. Like so many educational activities, most of these classes have been suspended. Caring teachers are checking in on students using social media such as Facebook. Some churches – like Woodland Baptist in San Antonio – are holding classes on ZOOM. At Literacy ConneXus we are actively looking for resources to help churches respond to the needs of ESL students in this current context.
“North Texas Giving Tuesday Now” will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. This emergency campaign will give our community the chance to help us empower adult learners and those who teach them, so that businesses can hire, people can work and families can thrive when YOU provide critical funds that will strengthen learners in these difficult times.
