Resource of the Week: The New Yorker’s Daily Shouts.

The New Yorker’s website has a section titled cartoons and humor and it can be a great resource for warm up activities or discussions with intermediate or advanced ESL students. They are current, geared towards adults, and screen-share friendly if you’re teaching via Zoom or another online platform. The pictures can be used without the attached articles to identify vocabulary or spark a discussion, and the articles can be included for more advanced ESL students.

Check out this example of a Daily Shout from their puzzles and games section posted December 28, 2020 about Stay-at-Home fun.
