Happy Friday from Literacy Connexus everyone! We hope this blog finds you happy, healthy, and warm (because – snow in March?!?!).

Today, I have a short and sweet resource recommendation from one of our TEX Trainers Angela Garcia. Angela recommends Blooket.
Blooket is a new take on review games and trivia for the classroom. Think Kahoot!, but according to Angela this is even better!
The Blooket mission is:
… to change the way students learn. While reading and studying an oversized textbook is certainly one option, we like to opt for a far more fun alternative. However, Blooket isn’t just fun, it’s also incredibly effective. By creating memorable experiences with classroom content, students learn the information without even noticing (and without paper cuts).

But what is a blook and how on Earth does this work?
A blook is a a little block that represents the players in the review game. The blooks are designed as little block cartoon characters, and while they’re perfect for kids they can be just as fun for adult students. I know that my students would get a kick out of the cute little animals during class (and I can’t wait to try it!).
So how does it work? Fear not! Blook has created this handy little tutorial right on their website.
1 Choose a Question Set
Whether you create your own question set, import one with our convertor tools, or find one in our Discover database, we’re certain that you’ll have the perfect set for your class.
2 Select a Game Mode
There’s always a variety of unique game modes to choose from that are sure to engage students. Also, make sure to keep an eye open for limited time seasonal and event modes.
3 Host & Join
A teacher simply hosts a game on a large screen in front of the class and students join in and compete on their own devices with the Game ID.
4 Play to Review
Throughout a game session, students will not only be having a great time, but they’ll also be answering questions to review the content being taught in class.
5 Analyze the Results
With detailed score reports and question analysis, teachers can easily understand how their students are performing and identify areas that they may need to review again.
