Happy Monday everyone! Checking in this morning to share a wonderful resource from one of our TEX trainers Angela Altine. What is your favorite ESL activity that really gets your students interested, participating, and engaged? One of my favorite type of activities is tongue twister challenges. I love to have my students try different tongue twisters to practice certain English sounds. My students love it because it’s kind of silly, and it’s one of those things that most people, English speakers included, are not especially good at so they don’t usually feel any pressure to be “perfect”. My students will discuss which tongue twisters were hard and which were easy, and the class tries to identify the sounds we were practicing with them. This resource has 17 ideas for engaging ESL class activities, because can we ever really have too many activity ideas? The resource comes from www.allesl.com and includes some wonderful activity ideas such as an Imperative Simon Says game, classroom movie dialogue practices, and ESL charades. Check out some of the activity ideas in the gallery below, and for the full post with all 17 activities and links click here.
